We are Crowninshield Punch!

Welcome, friend! We are Crowninshield Punch, a merry band of actors and historians with a love for folk music. We met as coworkers on the hot summer bricks of Essex St. in Salem, MA, where we began singing together to ease the work and pass the time— the same context in which most folk music first came to be.

We have an ever-expanding catalog from many centuries and walks of life: songs of the sea, fields, and working class, all creatively interpreted through a queer, theatrical lens. Our style is built on the blend of a unique five-part vocal harmony, and energized by a simple rhythm section that empowers us to play anytime, anywhere. Beyond the music, Crowninshield Punch performances are marked by the curiosity, humor, and camaraderie that first brought us together over ten years ago.
